The summer months present a volunteer challenge for Meals on Wheels with many of our regular volunteers off the island on vacation. Fill-in volunteers enable us to manage the gaps.
Any time you can give would be a huge help. If driving/delivering doesn’t appeal, then please consider volunteering in the kitchen with meal preparation or pot washing and/or dispatching of meals to the drivers.
We operate Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
Kitchen hours 8:30 – 11:30
Driver hours 11:00 – 1:00 (approximately depending on length of route)
Dispatch and Pot Washing – 10:15 – 1:00
You can enjoy volunteering on your own or with a friend, co-worker, spouse or child. It’s gratifying to know you have made a difference in someone’s day.
We also welcome students 14 years and older. It’s an ideal way for students to obtain their community service hours.
