Happy 2022 everyone. We cannot let the new year progress too far without looking back with gratitude and saying thank you to all of those who so ably assisted Meals on Wheels in 2021. It was only through their hard work and charitable spirits that we were able to serve the community as we did.
To all those individuals who gave of their time to volunteer, we say thank you. In 2021 over 150 of you served on our kitchen teams, in critical office support positions and out on the roads as delivery drivers. Your week-in-week-out commitment is the backbone of MOW. We simply couldn’t do it without you. Thank you.
To all those individuals who donated food and funds, we say thank you. The list is long and diverse – from the donation of fresh picked kale and the sharing of a little boy’s birthday bounty to the financial donations made in honor of dear friends no longer with us. Meals on Wheels is so very appreciative of the generosity of individuals in our community. Thank you.
To our corporate donors, we say thank you. Your generous financial support has enabled us to do something quite extraordinary – supply free meals to all of our clients since the early days of the Covid pandemic. Your contribution has directly eased the burden of families who may be struggling financially during this unprecedented period of need in our community. Thank you.
To Sunny Side Solar who donated a solar panel system and its installation in 2021 we say thank you. The reduction in our electric bill will go a long way in helping us offset rising prices due to Covid while also reducing our environmental footprint. We are grateful to be a beneficiary of the corporate philosophy of this non-profit. Thank you.
To our diverse Christmas Gift Bag squad we send a special shout out of thanks. With your generosity and assistance we were again able to present holiday gift bags to each of our clients. Chocolates, non-perishable food stuffs, beverages, toiletries, pens, pencils, cookies, date books and more were donated, homemade holiday cards were included in each bag and Saltus 6 year students and a team from Liberty Group put the bags together (see photo). Your support and teamwork put a smile on many faces. Thank you.
To our dedicated staff we say congratulations and thank you for bringing us all through another tough year. To say it has been a challenging balancing act is an understatement. As Covid rolls on, volunteer numbers shift daily while demand for service grows. Through it all, you’ve demonstrated resolve, resilience and a willingness to dig in and help out wherever you were needed. Thank you.
Lastly, thank you to our Board of Directors for their hands-on support and guidance. In addition to donating their professional skills to ensuring the ongoing success of MOW, members can often be found serving in various volunteer positions. Thank you.
